Public Advisory Committee Tour

On May 24th, 2025, the Public Advisory Committee (PAC) participated in a Coastal Tour of the littoral cell from Port Glasgow to Long Point. We began in the west and made stops at locations in each municipality to discuss coastal change. The littoral cell covers a large geography, including 7 municipalities and approximately 130km of shoreline. Each community has unique physical, social, ecological, and economic features, including harbours, coastal infrastructure, local culture, parks, animal and plant species, geology, waves and currents. To understand the complexity of the north shore, it was important for the PAC members to experience the whole geography first-hand. At each stop, local residents were able to provide historical observations, local context, perspectives and describe the coastal issues faced by the surrounding community. We want to thank the dedicated members of the Public Advisory Committee who volunteered their time to spend a day both teaching others and gaining new knowledge about the north shore of Lake Erie.
