Summer 2025
Throughout the summer and early autumn of 2025, field work was conducted to collect the data necessary to: better understand the changes occurring in the bluffs and nearshore, build the sediment budget and develop the hydrologic model of sediment transport within the project area. This included:
- Collecting lake bottom samples and having the sediment analyzed in a lab for grain size and type.
- Recording bathymetry and sonar imaging of the lake bottom
This data was collected at sites throughout the project area, with more detailed sampling occurring around harbours in Port Glasgow, Port Stanley, Port Bruce, Port Burwell and Long Point.
